Tunnel kilns are modern, continuous firing equipment widely used in metallurgy, ceramics production, and other fields. Their rapid development is closely linked to the continuous exploration of scientists and engineers. Let's take a look at their development history:

Tunnel kilns originated in 1765, initially only suitable for firing overglaze ceramics. By 1810, they could be used to fire bricks or pottery, but these were not ideal. It wasn't until 1906 that they were used to fire porcelain bodies. The earliest and most famous tunnel kilns were of the Fokilen type. After 1910, many improvements were made, among which the most advanced was the newest tunnel kiln designed in Leningrad, Soviet Union.

A tunnel kiln is a long, straight tunnel with fixed walls and an arched ceiling on both sides and the top. Kiln cars run on tracks laid at the bottom.
